First international conference investo.si follow-up: "about investing opportunities in Slovenia and Southeastern Europe"

Saturday, 21st June 2008 - PanSlovenian Shareholders' Association today hosted first international conference investo.si about investment opportunities in Slovenia and region of Southeastern Europe. Some of the most successful Slovenian companies and organizations presented themselves to more than 50 investors from all over the world. About specific aspects of investing in SE Europe and economical and political aspects and investing risks on a global level in the present financial framework talked authorities Dr. Erhard Busek and Dr. Giorgio Dominese.

Dr. Andrej Bajuk, Slovenian Financial Minister welcomed participants and expressed his hope that they will find Slovenia and their economy as opportunity worth investing into and hopes on successful cooperation in future. He emphasized success of effort of PanSlovenian Shareholders' Association and willingness of Slovenian Government also for future constructive cooperation with PanSlovenian Shareholders' Association. Dr. Erhard Busek, Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe continued with presentation of Specific Aspects of Investing in SE Europe and emphasized special conditions in Slovenia and Southeastern countries, like Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro. He ensured that this region has a lot of investment opportunities and it is competitive and stable environment for investments. Dr. Giorgio Dominese, Coordinator of CEEUN (Central Eastern European University Network) lectured about Economic and Political Aspects and Investing Risks on a Global Level in the Present Financial Framework. In continuation some of the leading Slovenian companies, like Mercator, Ljubljana's Stock Exchage, farmaceutical company Krka, logistic company Intereuropa, Petrol, Technology Park Ljubljana, Slovenian Tourist Board, and representatives of government presented themselves and investment opportunities.


Paulo Portinho, representative of WFIC Brasil (World Federation of Investors Corporation Brasil) showed conditions concerning investments and cooperation with Brasil, Claus Silfverberg, as representative of WFIC educated participants about great tricks for small investors. Moderator of the program Peter Frankl with current and partly provocative questions created amazing atmosphere on the first international conference investo.si and at the ending of three-days international meeting of the most visible representatives of shareholders and investors from all over the world in Ljubljana, organized by PanSlovenian Shareholders' Association.

In the frame of three-days international economy meeting of representatives of organizations of investors and shareholders (Euroshareholders and WFIC) was on Friday, 20th of June 2008, PanSlovenian Shareholders' Association hosted General Assembly of Euroshareholders. Participants on the General Assembly accepted important conclusions considering cooperation of national Associations and effective protection on interests of private shareholders as extremely important segment of owners. Ljubljana's Major Zoran Janković on Friday evening addressed and hosted on a festive dinner all invited guests at Ljubljana's castle, where also main organizer of international meeting, Mag. Kristjan Verbič, the president of PanSlovenian Shareholders'
Association made the speech as well as a special guest Prof. Dr. Felix Unger, president of European Academy of Science and Art, that surprised with his presence.

As Mag. Kristjan Verbič, president of PanSlovenian Shareholders' Association said, the purpose of economy meeting is "to use this opportunity in the best possible way and represent Slovenian economy, investment, bussines and strategical possibilities and potential of Slovenia, Middle and South Eastern Europe and enable connection of important international and global contacts. Both Associations, WFIC and Euroshareholders, are respectable international institutions that are joining powerful investors, economists and opinion leaders on national and international level and we are proud that so many of them participated at this meeting. At the same time we are happy that leading Slovenian companies, organizations and representatives of Slovenian government realize importance of cooperation with investors on international level and they responded to our invitation in such big number.

Euroshareholders in association of European organization of shareholders. It was established in 1992 and it unites 29 organiations from EU countries and
5 non-EU countries. World Federation of Investors Corporation (WFIC) was established in 1960 as World Federation of Investors Clubs and today it unites 20 national organizations and investors all over the world.
